How to Set Up the Gmail Widget in BaseTab

The Gmail widget lets you preview your latest emails right from your new tab page. No need to open Gmail in a separate tab — see your inbox at a glance every time you open a new tab.

1Open the Widget Menu

Open a new tab and click the "+" button in your BaseTab workspace to open the Add Widget dialog.

2Select the Gmail Widget

Scroll through the available widgets or search for "Gmail". Click on the Gmail widget card to select it.

3Grant Email Permissions

BaseTab will ask for permission to access Gmail's API. Click "Allow" when prompted — this is required so the widget can fetch your latest emails securely.

4Sign In with Google

If you haven't already signed in, you'll be prompted to authenticate with your Google account. This connects your Gmail inbox to the widget.

5View and Interact with Your Emails

Your latest emails will now appear in the widget. Click any email to open it in Gmail. The widget auto-refreshes so you always see your most recent messages.

Stay on Top of Your Inbox

With the Gmail widget, you'll never miss an important email. It updates automatically and gives you a quick overview without the distraction of opening your full inbox.
